TEDxYouth@ManhattanBeach - Hinda Talal - From No One To Someone

Hinda Talal describes her journey from being a bullied outsider to becoming a leader for peace and justice.

Hinda Talal is a behavioral scientist and researcher of sociopolitical psychology interested in self-awareness and leadership. She is a process leader, leadership consultant and nonviolence trainer, having presented in over 10 countries. Hinda is a co-founder of Swedish Muslims for Peace and Justice (SMPJ), one of Sweden's fastest growing movements. SMJP won awards from Swedish King Carl XVI Gustav and the former Swedish archbishop for inter-religious dialogue, nonviolence and leadership. Hinda is president of SMPJ, Gothenburg branch, and board member of one of Sweden's largest publishers. She is writing a book about proactive organizational cultures against domestic discrimination.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxYouth@ManhattanBeach, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxYouth@ManhattanBeach event, TEDTalks video and live speakers and group activities combined to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

Your vulgarity speaks volumes for your IQ.So Hinda Talal voluntarily left Sweden and went to London with the generous CSN(taxpayers money) and yet had to be homeless for 6 months and sleep in libraries because she couldnt find an affordable room?Wow! R there any swedes reading this nonsense?There r thousands of swedes studying in UK every year.I wonder how they manage? O wait! I know! They must be saving on their electricity bill by ironing their meat instead of cooking it like normal people :-)

It is very amusing to me how shallow and half-witted some people here are. There is no jealousy or hatred in my comments. I am just stating facts. I only wish that Hinda Talal did the same. Speaking of which I am still waiting for an answer to the questions why is Hinda Talal lying about being homeless in the UK when she in fact lived on CSN (swedish taxpayers money) and what is her contribution to science?

@tobiasmike612 A psycologist is also a scientist. If a British university has offered Hinda a Bsc ( Bachelor of Science) in psychology, why are you barking with so much anger and malice? What is Hinda's and our fault if you are so ignorant and ill? You got a serious problem within your psyche! I recommend you to a psychiatrist! Jealousy and hatred can wreck your health!

@tobiasmike612 @tobiasmike612 A behavioural scientist works on all the desciplines that explore the activities of and the interactions among organisms in the natural world.It involves the systematic analysis and investigation of human and animal behaviour through controlled and naturalistic observation. And that is exactly Hinda's speciality within the overall frame of the science of psychology. A scientist doesn't necessarily mean that one must invent a kind of technology.

@tobiasmike612 Jealousy causes blindness of the eyes and the mind! Hinda is a kind of scientist in her own domain. Anybody else with her credentials might be described as a scientist. It is not a big deal! Now, if you can show us your accomplishments in any area of life then we might call you a scientist. I doubt that!
