Richard Dawkins Answering a question at the Global Atheism conference in Melbourne Australia. The question was "Are rational thinkers a dying breed in the long run noting that their birth-rate is below that of any religious group? Is there any evidence that there is some genetic predisposition to irrational belief? (a requirement for the first part of the question)"

  • @milkwasabadchoice131 can't murder now - eating

  • @Onetruthrgv Is there something particularly religious or biased about having conferences? If someone tried to push religious dogma or political religion of a kind to which you don't subscribe, like islam, would you not oppose it? Would there be anything religious or non-neutral about such an opposition? Religion will fade, conferences not. Why can't you religious people stop pretending like you have some sort of immunity against criticism and fucking take it like a man for once? Whiny pussies.

  • awwwww fuck......i totaly missed this....fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuckkkk..... man this requires many, many, maannyyyy beers...

  • @Onetruthrgv First of all. I missread your first claim. I read "atheist say there is no (such) thng like religion"

I don't get your point about hypocracy at all. Why wouldn't you be able to actively promote not accepting a claim without being a hypocrite?

My point is that these "atheist gatherings" is not simply about atheism.

Most are about sceptisicm, rational thinking or science. And/or in some cases (religious) intollerance and how to cambat it. These are all good reasons to come together.

  • @iamtheVitor Matt dillahunty

They are hypocrites because they claim a neutral position yet have meeting promoting the rise of atheism as a group. Yep Because Christians don't have meetings to further the christian movement?

Please explain why they would want to gather.
