My pigeon Meli likes being stroked and cuddled!

In this video you can see how affectionate pigeons can be. My pigeon Meli likes being stroked and receiving a lot of attention like a baby! When I talk to him and stroke him with love, he starts 'purring' like a cat! I recorded this video to show that even pigeons have feelings and deserve our love, just like all other animals! Meli can recognise different people, he knows his name, he comes when I call him, and he has even learnt (by himself) how to open doors so that he can follow me in the house from one room to another! How can some people hate and treat with cruelty such beautiful, intelligent and innocent creatures? Hi 'RescueMe9962', Meli is actually a male! He has a female companion, Anemoni (a white fantail dove) and they have got many sons and daughters! :-) Meli is still very affectionate with me! But when he gets angry he bites without mercy...! He is a very moody guy! He is a real character! :-) I'm glad you love pigeons too! I'll check your own videos!

It's true, pigeons coo and bow their heads when they are cuddling their mates and my pigeon Meli is really 'in love' with me! :-) He likes me to talk to him, to stroke him and feed him! If I ignore him, he starts cooing loudly to call me! He's so faithful like a dog! Now he also has a 'wife', Anemoni, a white Pavoncello dove and 6 babies! He's very happy! Thank u 4 ur suggestions! Thats a female..I bet it layed eggs soon after...My female pigeon shows the exact same behavior, then she lays eggs...they make wonderful pets..I have a bunch of videos posted of mine..you should check them out, Im sure you will enjoy them..

I think you should make a video of him openings doors etc. That would be great!

Tame pigeon though. I keep pigeons (10 white ones!) and I have observed this behavior (the cooing and head bowing) when they are cuddling their mates - that's how close the bond is between you and your pigeon!

If you do make a video with your pigeon opening doors etc. make it have a catchy title so people will watch it and therefore more people will sign your petition!
