John McCains economic plan calls for a $1.5 billion tax cut for Wal-Mart, and millions more for their CEO, Lee Scott.

Isn't that part of the problem?

  • Listen here son... lol... do you really think tax cuts are going to be enough to get employers to hire more employees? Do you know how expensive it is to maintain and employee especially in these times? Do you know those tax cuts will go straight into debt of those companies which will in the end not STIMULATE the economy but actually add additional debt resulting from those tax cuts, as for the current debt the tax cuts will merely cut it down by 5% or so.

  • Wal-Mart supplies so many jobs for Americans....if you give them tax cuts they are able to keep giving Americans jobs! Simple economics.

  • i work at walmart and they will NOT let me wear my OBAMA lanyard at work !!!!!!!!

  • too bad some people on this post will vote for McSame due to being pedjudice. what a bunch of loosers.

  • I don't care if McCain put's us in a depression Nobama!

  • So, in other words you support walmart and other companies that act as they do. Because with mccain, you WILL get more of the SAME from mcsame!

  • Have you heard, "We've created millions of new jobs?"

It's an attempt to make us feel less or un- concerned about the jobs that have been shipped overseas or which have completely disappeared over the past few decades.

The so-called jobs "created" are just a restructuring of what's left and what used to be full-time w/ benefits positions. Most "new jobs" are lower paying w/ fewer or unaffordable benefits, part-time and/or temporary w/o or w/ unaffordable benefits.

  • The stats the MSM feds us concerning unemployment are a lie. The info used to generate figures are based on the number of people collecting unemployment insurance in a given quater. Those numbers aren't an accurate account of how many people are actually unemployed because it takes two weeks of unemployment before you can collect, benefits are often denied & many folks are too intimidated by the process to ever file. None of these unemployed persons are counted in published unemployment stats.

  • Walmart & other huge corporations like them have been the death of our economic infrastructure. They avoid appropriate taxation via legislative loopholes they've helped our so-called Reps in Gov create, they lobby Congress to keep minimum wage below a living wage, they work most employees part-time so that they can say they've "created jobs" when their real motive is to deny workers full-time benefits, they've squashed or bought out the competition, & shipped manufacturing jobs overseas.
