Description: This supercell produced wind damage near Caledonia, MN before crossing the Mississippi River and producing golf ball to baseball size hail in La Crosse. Although we were well south and east of the hail core, you can hear some hail hitting the ground (and my car) near the beginning of the video. These hailstones were literally being ejected out of the top of the supercell.
This storm eventually merged with another supercell and went on to produce an EF2 tornado near Arkdale and Cottonville, WI (approx. one hour later, 45 miles ENE of where this video was shot).
Saw one of these once (supercell) in the town i use to live in. The color is so weird, you can see clear skies behind all that. The thing that's really cool is the simultaneous lightning, it's like quick burst of color. Nature is amazing.
