An Answer (HD Test)

Since she asked...

(Be sure to check this out in HD and please let me know what you think of the picture quality!)

3 quick shots to test the HD capability of new hardware and software (including Carrara version 7). The goal was to render each frame of a complex scene in under 3 minutes. I also wanted to test the Depth of Field and Motion Blur with camera movements in HD with C7. The character animation was done quickly (lip sync in Mimic Pro for Carrara), but otherwise this will be the basic look of the finished 20-25 minute project.

I'm polishing off the script now, and I expect to start voice casting in the next week or two. (And BTW these are the two leads, but hopefully they'll both get much cooler voices than stock clips and my own!)

Hey qamarnahaar, how large did you have to render this scene(resolution/pixels), and how much time did it take to make this preview??? Its awesome, and I hope to make this SIZE and QUALITY vid someday. Your work is inspiring to ME - My videos are TINY - 640X480 - Poser 6 and Bryce 5 have issues with LARGER video than that. They keep running out of memory(2 GB of RAM) and crashing alot. I TRIED. ;-p

Thanks, this was done in 1280X720 at about 2 mins per frame (30fps x 15sec x 2min = 450 min) over a long weekend on a PC with an i720 proccessor with 3 gig RAM.

That opening shot is fantastic.

The only thing I'd add is some post production atmospherics, but other than that, its very, very cool. :)

Wow - cool! i720 PC's I WANT someday, with a few QUADCORE's(dreaming about it ;-P) That's GREAT! Thank you, I will TRY for that size video when my PC can handle it. Today its so SLOW......... ;-D
