That was great, dude. Head out to LA - we've got some traffic for you to weave through - and you can try to stay on my wheel in LA's crazy traffic. Try. ;)

Another great video, Aki. If you like riding in traffic, you should come on down to New Haven this May for this year's Grand Theft Velo.

I've been watching your videos and I've been to your website as well. I ride group rides with Sound Cyclists and many of the riders do the Spring Bethel series and they've asked me to particpate but to be honest I'm a little leery about the crashes.....it's not my handling skills that worry me. It's the other guys.....I'd like to keep my collarbones & bike intact.....
What handlebars are you running too ? They have an interesting gradual bend going from the tops to the hoods....

The bars are old Mavic criterium bend bars. I prefer them as my forearms don't get as badly bruised in sprints as they do with squared off bars (i.e. normal ones).
Re: racing and crashing - although people talk about crashing all the time, it's not as common as it might sound. And the bad crashes come in the 3s since everyone thinks they can handle their bikes. In the 5s everyone is still a bit leery. You can always go to a race and watch. It's not that frightening when you watch.

Is this Training or just for fun?

I do these for both training and fun. It's good speed/sprint work and the car chasing drafting sprinting motivates me. I usually do a bunch and it's normally at night, typically starting after 9 or 10 pm. On this day (early evening in the summer so still bright) I only got a few in and only one had cars in it.
