Yes, I use it for a couple hours and my arm hurt. So maybe PVC pipe would be lighter. Right this minute my arms are hurting from painting my house with a paint roller! So I can relate! lol I'll go watch your video. Thanks for stopping by!

That "flapping thing" is called a shock mount and is attatched to the Rode Videomic. It prevents the microphone from picking up any tapping noises, or noises when you move the camera (you'll notice it has elastics which work as tension bands to allow for any movement). It sounds obscure - but it really does work and the Rode Videomic is a great buy!
