i am a 42 y/o RETIRED U.S. MARINE. i am not really a hip hop fan, but when they are USMC hip hop cadences, it makes this Marine really MOTIVATED AND PROUD . to my younger brothers and sisters, keep up the GREAT work that you are doing! i retired in '90 when i lost my foot in a Combat Rubber Raiding Craft (zodiac) in Subic Bay Philippines. I proudly served as an 0311 with Bravo Co. 1st Bn 1st Marines.

@xxksixclanxx The marine corps is specialized specifically in combat. They follow a long tradition of looking for a fight and not backing down. You could say they're the Pit-bull that America lets loose on its enemy's.

@projectmayhem79 you are on the right track. stick to it!! we were not given a period of instruction on stress reduction techniques, but you will definitely need it in boot camp! no words or actions will describe the feelings you will experience in boot camp. there is a reason behind everything because you have just joined the toughest branch of the U.S. Military. during my tour, i got to go to the island of Iwo Jima and have been on Mt.Suribachi. i even ate and stayed the night on it!!

@jarhead8890 Thankyou Sir! you've motivated this recruit even more,This recruit has been workingout 2-3 times a day before i go, hiking up hills with 45 lbs in my backpack building muscle and running 4miles just about everyday to prepare for the initial 3miles at boot camp,and meditating to improve mentally as well as reading.This recruit looks forward to stepping in the yellow footprints you stepped in 23 years ago and follow in the foots steps of great elite men like you .OORAH!!!!

@projectmayhem79 you are the very first young person thanking me for my service as a U.S. Marine. i am going to return the compliment with some advice! first, keep motivated it will get you through and the DI's notice! well, you do suffer when you go through boot camp it is a part of becoming a Marine! your experience will help shape your future. for example, employment and education. I went thru MCRD San Diego 23 years ago. keep the mindset you are in and prepare for it physically!!

@MetaMORphosisFREE what tehy need to do is put the im better than thou pride aside and work together like our founding fathers had set it up as. iv egot mutual respect for ALL branches even the coast guard. anyone thats in service to my country ive got equal respect for.

@xxksixclanxx The USMC is supposed to act as a very powerful expeditionary force. The USMC is intended to operate with Sea-to-Land operations. The Army is responsible for more land-based operations. The Army is also provide the main defense of the United States. I say both branches do their job very well and I have respect for ALL 4 branches. God bless all our current service men, women, and past veterans.
