Saying that he is a good man for living life as he wanted at the expense of the bear in Alaska is akin to excusing someone harming a child while in the process of living their life on their own terms.

The bear had no way to protect themselves against the habits that he instilled in them for his own selfish gain. This is not admirable, it's sick.

Thoreau had his mother and sisters waiting on him hand and foot when he wrote Walden.

Bear hunting is not a problem, it's an evil that we've created that sadly, must happen in order for the remaining bear to prosper. We are the only consistant predatory animal left on this continent. Treadwell is directly responsible for removing th fear of man from the bear that approached the hunters and he is responsible for making the bear that winter starved reliant upon him for food.

Timothy Treadwell is the John Audubon of our recent times. So well said. Avoid any person who didn't earn or wants to emblaze any item that cost the lives of others (being it animal or a slave person). Sound advice wether you believe or not.

@thegirl44 For me him, I think he is a great man not for what he did whit the bears (i love animals but bears are not my favorite, i dont' care actively about them), i think he is a great man because he live "that" kind of life, like Thoreau or McCandless.

Maybe he makes some mistakes, but if bears die the REAL problem are bears hunters, is not his fault, think about that.

You love dogs, but there aren't dogs hunters, so there is no problem.

And you probably can't understand the wild view.

I've spent 10 years contributing to a biological study about the devastation that Tim Treadwell did to the bear population that he claimed to be protecting. He was feeding the bear, so after he died 3 of them hibernation starved. He removed their fear of man so 4 approached hunters and were shot. He lied to people to get them to donate funds to his excursions.

I act responsibly around the animals that I study and protect and I don't lie, come to your own conclusion who's better.

Normal people like you, everyday contribute to kill ALL the animal\plants life on this earth, not just 9 bears (like YOU said, not for me, not in that way). And at least he act with real love and he found the wild side of life...and more. But I don't pretend that you understand me...reading what you said I think that you will never undertand things like those, go eat your meal and don't spit on mans like him, please.
