Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Units

NWSDB decided in 2006 to establish rural water supply and sanitation units in all districts in order to provide back up support for CBOO to run their RWSS effectively and efficiently. They consist of few officers and report to Manager of NWSDB for the respective district. NWSDB through its annual budget provides necessary funds for the units.

The main function of unit is to provide all necessary assistance and guidance for CBOO. A complete term of reference for units can be read by visiting TOR for Units.

Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Units have been already established in Kalutara, Gampaha, Puttalam, Kurunegala, Kandy, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Monaragala, Hambatota, Matara, Galle and Kegalla.

  • This is an excellent work done by the ADB, well done.

Community Participation in developmental activities is the need of the day. without their participation no scheme can be done from sustainability perspective.

    Congratulations ADB.
