  • That is a load of garbage. The Vietnam War was started for the same reason the Iraq War was started, corporate profit at the expense of lives.

  • And, yes, like Iraq, Vietnam was meant to be dragged out. If you run a coroporation that makes military hardware, what better way to skyrocket your profits than with a never ending war?

  • Johnson lied through his teeth about the gulf of tonkin to get amercia involoved in what was a civil war.

The govenrments of both Johnson and Nixon helped the psychopathic Pol Pot into power and allowed hinm to torture and murder 1.5 million of his own people by bombing and destabilizing Cambodia in a vain attempt at stopping the north Vietnamese army's supply lines.

King George The Imbecile was proven to be a liar so many times and also proved that you don't need to be smart to be president.

  • The French fought the Vietcong for 8yrs and they lost, then America got into the war after a torpedo attack on one of the US war ships. A war is fine to have if you have American people supporting it like WW2 after bombing of Pearl Harbor. We had a tragic, but wonderful opportunity to change the view of America on 9/11 and we blew it.

  • To hell with learning from the past when there's a ton of money to be made.

  • Good report. Good research. Gentlemen and Ladies, you are incorrect. Not Oberman. Oberman, whatever his views on the President, is simply and very accurately reporting history as it happened. He's saying what the statesman need to be saying, if there are any true statesmen around anymore....

(Recall your history, there were tens of thousands of protesters speaking out during Vietnam, now there are only a few in this country speaking out)

  • Again, you're not looking very deeply into any of this. Skimming a few google returns for anything you agree with isn't worth shit.

  • You're regurgitating selected information to support your point of view.

  • Fighting between the Khmer Rouge and the Vietnamese continued throughout the 1980s; Vietnam withdrew its troops by 1989. In 1993 UN-mediated elections established an interim government, and Cambodia's monarchy was reestablished. In Laos, North Vietnam's victory over South Vietnam brought the communist Pathet Lao into complete control in Laos."(Britannica Concise Encyclopedia, 2007)

  • "North Vietnam won the war (the Vietnam War) despite heavy U.S. involvement, and the country was reunited in 1976. Cambodia experienced its own civil war between communists and noncommunists during that period, which was won by the communist Khmer Rouge in 1975. After several years of horrifying atrocities under Pol Pot, the Vietnamese invaded in 1979 and installed a puppet government.
