I've heard the opposite. Lucas has catagorically said Boba did die in te Sarlac. I bet he even stomped his foot as he said it too.

ugh, I can't watch the Holiday Special under any circumstance.

But this was cool, ALMOST made me want to suffer through it again.

And Boba Fett didn't die in the Sarlacc, he just got REALLY effed up. Lucas said he approves of the novels that basically brought him back to life, so that's something.
