Anı Köyü

Anı is a ruined and uninhabited medieval city-site situated in the Turkish province of Kars, beside the border with Armenia. It was once the capital of a medieval Armenian kingdom that covered much of present day Armenia and eastern Turkey. The city is located on a triangular site, visually dramatic and naturally defensive, protected on its eastern side by the ravine of the Akhurian River (Turkish: Arpaçay) and on its western side by the Bostanlar or Tzaghkotzadzor valley. The Akhurian is a branch of the Aras River and forms part of the current border between Turkey and Armenia. Called the "City of 1001 Churches", it stood on various trade routes and its many religious buildings, palaces, and fortifications were amongst the most technically and artistically advanced structures in the world.
At the height of its glory, Anı had a population of 100,000 - 200,000 people and was the rival of Constantinople, Baghdad and Cairo. Long ago renowned for its splendor and magnificence, Anı has been abandoned and largely forgotten for centuries.

Merci! Je n'ai jamais visité l'Armenie, mais Ani était merveilleux! Je comprend votre messages seulement en partie. Qu'esque c'est "Bourase" et "Abris afeyk"? Je sais qu'il y a des serieuses problèmes entre les Armeniens et les Turques et que la Turquie officiellement nie la génocide. Tout de même j'aime le pays et sa peuple et j'espére du fond du coeur que les relations entre vos peuples s'améliorent.

Of course I know of the genocide in the early 20th century and the denial of it by the Turkish government, but that does not mean that each and every Turk was / is a bad person or barbarian. The same thing goes for the Azerbeidjani. I think you should never judge a person by what fellow-countrymen did, recently or generations ago. Let alone say, one should fuck their mother or sisters ...

I can understand the pain and anger, resulting from what happened in your childhood. Noone who did not actually experience the atrocities from nearby can fully understand what it does to a human being. What I DO know is that hatred of a PEOPLE is wrong. Every human being should be considered and judged by his/her own actions, behaviour and thoughts. NOT by what his ancestors, neighbours or countrymen do or have done.
