awesome. this coming from a mixed martial artist, sef shin fighter. i train sef shin which is a form of mixed martial arts but tradional martial arts at the same time with kata's and self defense. i also train bjj and spar against boxers, and other fighters. i appreciate this kata though, not 100% perfect but beautiful and powerful.

Could I get the characters for "anan" and if it Chinese/Japanese/Okinawan dialect?
seta9909 1 year ago
@seta9909 Of course: アーナン is the Japanese writing. It is the Okinawan language.

The name of this kata please? Thank you!

@seangarb: The name of this kata is "Anan", as the title suggests. Some people incorrectly spell it "Annan" though.

@KARATEbyJesse actually when it was first written in english it was incorrectly spelled with one "n" it is supposed to be spelled "Annan"

@ShotokanBleach I beg to differ. The Japanese katana (phonetic writing) reads: "アーナン", which correctly translated would be Aanan. But, since we typically don't write out double a, it simply becomes Anan. "Annan" is am Americanized version, popular though phonetically incorrect (using the Hepburn system of romanization).
