It's just a homage, basically.

It's a rip off of the main robot of this anime, Might Gaine, only black and with a Mazinger Z-like cockpit.

I saw this and felt *exactly* the same thing. I can almost accept the second fellow if not for his sounding like a drunk football player, but the scientist who looks like a diseased Ebisumaru and his pet HARO bird? Yech.

Lines as awesome as "Carrying murderous thoughts on black wings and shining the red light for misery!" should not be spoken by gag villains. End of story.
