Agreed with 'nostalgicogirl'. Great beats are there in Tamil too. People, check out what ARR has already invented in Tamil, you will be amazed to listen. A music of the future!

I guess he is choosing not so good movies in Tamil. Take Azhagiya thamizh magan, Jillunnu oru Kadhal (lovely songs), A AAh, sakkarakatti (all songs hits) etc. etc. all those were musical hits but the movies sucked. He should choose his movies better going forward..

I'm Tamil and I really love it when he does stuff in Tamil, but I think as of recently there aren't as many challenging projects in Tamil. This year, Rahman had just one Tamil release, and it really paled in comparison to Hindi albums like Jodhaa Akbar and Jaane Tu. I really hope he can hook up with more good directors and get back into his groove in Tamil again.
And yes, "Boys" would make my ARR Top Ten list. Sivaji, Jillunu Oru Kadhal, Ah Aah are recent great (and untranslated) albums.

I'm French, and i prefer his Tamil songs (even if he has composed great Hindi songs for "Dil se" or "Lagaan")

People should listen to Rahman's TAMIL compositions..they'll fall flat on their faces if they do..ever heard the hit songs from the movie "Boys" in Tamil?You'll be amazed!!
Somehow I just feel coz of the language barrier people are not quite exposed to Rahman's true talents-the ones that emerge when he composes music for the Tamil crowd. It's time we Hindi people started listening to Rahman's Tamil hits too or maybe they should reproduce those songs in Hindi so the world would recognize them too
