C/A VS Straight Couples - Wedding/Post-Wedding Moments

Okay, this video is far from my norm of videos but this came about because of a discussion in an entry on the Callie_Arizona community on Livejournal. The discussion involved Shonda Rhimes saying that we fans read between the lines and that Callie and Arizona aren't treated differently from any other couple on Grey's Anatomy. Now since there are a crap-load of differences and WAY too many to show in just one video, I decided to focus this purely on the differences when it comes to the Weddings and Post-Wedding moments.

So the first half of the video shows that there is an equality between C/A and straight couples when it comes to the wedding portion. Whether it's in a backyard, a church, on a post-it or eloping, it doesn't matter, they are equal.

However in the second half of the video you will see that there clearly is a difference between C/A and straight couples when it comes to post-wedding moments. For some reason every straight couple in Grey's Anatomy had their post-wedding moment literally in the next episode. Whether it was a simple acknowledgement that they are in fact married or crazy sex or even a hug. You know that they are married but when it came to Calzona there was nothing. We got to see them with Mark talking to Sofia, and then we saw them argue about who the chief resident is going to be.

Now I don't know about you guys but it seems to me like there is a difference. It really doesn't take long for a simple acknowledgement that they are in fact married, yet we got nothing. I mean, if you had missed 7x20, you wouldn't even know they got married.

Even Henry and Teddy had an acknowledgment and their marriage wasn't even a real one. How fair is that?

I know that there are those of you that agree with me, but also those that don't believe there is a difference, please still watch the video. It may help you to see with the examples right in front of you.

Also, the ending came down to showing Bizzy/Susan from Private Practice or showing that memorable quote from the fiance of the trampled horse guy. I chose the memorable quote.

This video is voice-over heavy as it's more of a compilation video.

Thnak you for ceating this video!!! OF COURSE there's a difference!! I don't know if Shonda is playing dumb or actually beeing clueless. Her response seemed both rude, condesending and cluless, or she is in denial. Thank you for making this video!! Is there possible to make another one? Or one showing intimate scenes, and one showing kissing scenes? The kisses the straight couples have are far more passionate and longer. With C/A it's usually mainly pecks on the lips.

@Sofie8211 Hmm...another one eh? I had thought of doing one around the time I was making this one but the problem is that i don't have all the neccessary clips to make it. However most of the clips in this video were sent to me so if I decided to do it, I'm sure I could find all the clips on Youtube or someone would find them for me. I'll have to think about it. If I do, would you be game for finding clips for me?

@prtf I found this vid that has a lot of hot scenes from GA, its called: Grey's Anatomy - Hotness - Come On Closer .Maybe u can use some of those? And compare them to when Calzona lye in bed always fully dressed LOL. The most passionate scenes that C/A have had during 2,5 seasons are the chicken pox (of course it was played for fun and then interrupted) and the elevator scene.

@Sofie8211 Um, it's better if I just have the scenes because then I can use voice-overs if I choose to. Which elevator scene are you talking about? I don't remember a passionate elevator scene. There is a stairwell scene.

There is a big difference between the two. Okay, yeah, sure, they got a wedding and was all beautiful and such for that episode, but like the video showed the straight couples after they were married actually showed like they were married and were a couple as for Calzona it seemed like nothing changed. Like the wedding, the kisses, the everything was all a dream.

actually they did get a little family moment with sofia but it was deleted callie was holding sofia taking her to see arizona it was in the final episode it was cute and it had "no mark" which surpised me lol

„If you had missed 7x20, you wouldn't even know they got married.“ Totally agree…They had no couple interaction after their wedding. No scene where they talk about being married. It was like the wedding never happened. Calzona have seemed more like friends in S7. Hope we will see better in S8!!

Shonda confirmed that Calzona was meant for each other.. the others will crumble and fade :)
