The soda pop company is polluting an important Argentine cultural and national site in Buenos Aires with tasteless commercials on a huge LCD screen. Blogger (On The Journey) & video essayist Paul Weiss claims Coke is "branding" Argentina's most famous cultural and national icon, the 660-foot Obelisco and demands they take it down.
It's a matter of taste, F7E7. Some people like to watch bottle caps flying through the air. Others prefer mountains and flowers and seascapes. The good news is, an enlightened judge ordered the sign turned off.

Thank you very much for publishing this. I agree with you: they do not only pollute an historical site with that huge ugly sign. They go further. They put a sign that distract and confuse drivers. They block the facade of a piece of architecture. They... they are not only Coca Cola. It is also the government who allows this to happen. I am sorry that some argentineans do not agree with us... Again, thank you very much. Federic from Buenos Aires.

@hellejahre Thanks, Federico, for your comment ... not everyone understands how important this issue is. Coca-cola brands buildings, stadiums, athletes, our tv screens, and a thousand other places, just as the vaqueros brand cows.
