They showed clips from Dear John for Channing Tatum and The Notebook for Rachel McAdams. They were just showing the actors via previous movies they had acted in. Most likely because The Vow had yet to be released at the time of this news segment.

The only problem is that the movie is just a Hollywood movie, nothing more than fantasy, is not real. Nowadays, couples split for the most trivial reasons. There's no guarantee they would still be together if the story had happened just like the movie portrayed. Furthermore, in the real story he never stopped loving her and fighting for her. He said his love for her and their faith kept them together. Agape love is way more beautiful, desirable and admirable than Eros love.
