Intelligence is being able to think for yourself. Not letting others influence you easily or at all. Artificial intelligence in the future could be applied in devices but will be manipulated by users and have limited/restricted actions on users. For example, an AI on a handheld may be used for driving instructions as well as auto-pilot in a vehicle.

But non-AI apps today like facebook and twitter already 'control' millions of users' lives. How difficult would it really be for AIs? It wouldn't.
