The reason this the technique is so effective is that we are using two things that don't really go together! matte and shine! If you want to hide something on the face then using a matte product is your best ecause any shine will only attract to that area - which when covering acne or redness or scars is never the goal. However overly matte skin can look dull and lifeless but at the same time it usually provides full coverage - something we need.

So what if we take the best of matte and combine it with a setting spray - taking away the matte effect but leaving behind the full coverage that we seek? Sound cool - it really is and it takes 60 seconds to apply!

I used MAC studio fix powder plus foundation. It provides medium to full coverage and is completely matte. Layer the product. Don't be afraid of using too much. Cover what needs to be covered.

Then use a setting spray. MAC fix plus is fine - but a REAL setting spray is a much better option. These will fix your makeup all day and take away the matte look to the skin - leaving you with full coverage to the skin - that actually looks like skin.

I own this powder, it is very beautiful! I tried this and wow... it WAS fast and I looked good! I used Urban Decay makeup setting spray for it. I should get a nice brush to put on the powder... I used the sponge the compact came with.
