From the Album:
PRINCESA DE KUOMINTANG
"In the days of our lola and lolo, the "habanera" was one of the most popular dances. "Princesa de Kuominang" is a "habanera" which tells a story in a song of a young romantic and imaginative girl who pictured herself a princess being courted by a handsome and dashing Prince Charming. It is still a favorite number in present day barrio fiesta dances."

ZAMBOANGA
"No one can call himself a true Filipino unless he is familiar with this traditional melody which is almost something of a second national anthem of the Philippines. Zamboanga is reportedly the fairest city of this land, an idyllic place in the southernmost province of the country. Hence, this piece, in martial tempo, expresses through it lyrics a melancholy farewell. it is appropriate for any time of parting and is almost always played at the docks when any ship is about to take off."

Audio from a vintage 10 inch vinyl phonograph record ("Band Music of the Philippines, The Villar Recording Band under the direction of Leopoldo Silos", Villar Recording VLP 4006, Columbia Records. Undated)
