The Teisco SX-400, a rare and obscure synth made by the Kawai/Teisco company back in 82'...Back in 82!!(Napoleon Dynamite). I don't think many people have these synths, and if they do it's probably broken. Mine is 95% functional. Here's a decent patch of what the SX-400 can do.

Edit: the SX-400 finally died from power supply failure. Time for a 'complete' overhaul.. ;c)

  • Will you sell it?

  • No, but I'll trade it for a fully functional minimoog lol!

  • Nice synth. Is this the same/similar to the SX240 from Kawai?

And no. I will not trade you my Minimoog for it! :-)

  • The SX-240 is a different animal. It's smaller than the SX-400, with a lot less voice boards. When I took the synth apart, I had to move 4 voice boards out of the way to get to the memory board's battery. SX-400's have the same leaky NiCad battery issues as the Korg Poly 6's do. Luckily I got the battery out before it damaged the memory board, which is next to impossible to find!

  • That sequence would have sounded great in an italo track.

  • UGH, WAAAANT!!!

  • Great synth, excellent for strings pads and 4 vco leads (with aftertouch) I got one wich has an external input modification for chorus and filter. Also 2 extra pots for chorus lfo frequency. I love it!
