Beginner Ski Lesson #1.4 - Snow Plough Turns

Once you've learnt how to snow plough on skis and can control your speed on the snow and stop, it's time how to learn how to turn using snow plough turns. In this skiing lesson Darren Turner explains how to make your first turns on skis using the snow plough or wedge and talks about common mistakes. A gentle slope is required for this demo - and remember for your safety that it is not a substitution, but a complement, to on-slope tuition with a qualified professional ski instructor.

I' d like to congratulate you for those brilliant videos and am wondering if there are any thoughts on supporting other platforms beside iPhone like a PC/Desktop application or even an online tutorial course for all of us not owning an Apple Product yet still wanting to contribute. @ykotsinos We're pleased you enjoyed the films. We have the apps available on Nokia and very shortly Windows Phone 7. We are looking into Android and other avenues hopefully in time for next season. So watch this space, thanks again.

@hbolle00 Skiing becomes a lots more enjoyable when you can lose the ploug, skiing parallel is a lots more, comfortable on the legs therefore more fun but that doesn't necessarily mean carving.

i learnt to ski in austria (learnt and learnt... but i tried it :P )

and in my opinion.. it sucks only being able to plow when you turn etc.

so should i try out carving?
