If you guys are helicopter pilots/fans and have any questions at all, preticularly on the CH-53E (Marine helicopter) i am a fully qualified mechanic on those and love to get geeky about helicopters. Feel free to send me a message.

@c6rocks unless the helicopter has a cabin and not doors, and you enter the cockpit from the rear, then theres no way to avoid the collective from getting in the way on the pilot side. and then the copilot (left) side has the benefit of not having collective in the way.

My dream is to be a PIC of a MD500.

Whats the key for?

@michaelmiller85 I learned in the enstrom, also a lefty!

Needs rocket pods. Or twin belt fed .50's. Or maybe a quad belt fed M60 conversion

@michaelmiller85 Did you mean to say, the pilot sits on the left, unlike most helicopters? Because in most aircraft, the pilot does sit in the left seat. Sorry to nit-pic. I've heard heli pilots usually sit on the right as to not have the collective in the way of crawling in.
The key is to allow the ignition button to work, allowing the engine o start.

I would love to make more heli videos in the jet ranger, but due to the job I'm at it is taking a while to get the approval. I will see what I can do.

Why cant you have a "hot start"
NASIMNASIM 5 months ago
@NASIMNASIM Because it will exceed the temperature limits of the turbine, possibly causing damage to the turbine section of the engine.
