I am so happy to finally be able to post this video. I've been wanting to do it for quite a while. I only wish I had more old footage to use. For those of us that grew up there, I think we had the best childhoods in the world. It really was a paradise. As you can see, some things have changed since then. Please let me know what you think. If any of you have old footage you would like me to edit, perhaps you can send me the tapes and then I can send them back to you; I'm once again a student, and the main library here at FSU has really cool video editing stations. Thank you for all the comments. I love hearing from you all. ps- I labeled most of the obvious places, but some of the stuff at the end I left unlabeled for the die-hards!

  • I live in Panama from 88-94, 1-5th grades. I went to Diablo and I think I recognize a few kids in the footage from the bus stop! Is that Danny, Casey, Torey or Stephanie? My fams favorite vacation spot was Rio Mar. Oh I dream of those black sands and the cliffs, and the orange soda's and fried rice! I choked up seeing all this. I wish there was more! I also wish my parents had video taped. They did take about a billion photos though. Happiest time of my life. thanks for posting this...really.

  • @goodygoodyoneshoe I'm Danny! I'm now 29 and in graduate film school at FSU. Who are you, and what are you up to?

  • Wow... Amazing. I'm almost sad that I've seen this. I wanted to remember the place as it was, when I was a child. Thank you for the post though, it brought back a lot of memories. I lived there 82-84, on albrook.

  • I was there 71-76

  • I was there in June of 2009 also !! I was disappointed on the care they neglected on almost ALL of our buildings (SCN bldg.) we came extremely close to buy a home in Quarry Hgts.. the juggling was too extreme. More research was needed, but they also changed a lot of the structures there and they just looked tacky..so we spent a couple of weeks finding old friends, cruising to El Valle, and eating ceviche on the Causeway.

My old apt. on Calle 55 in El Cangrejo was converted to a restaraunt. THXS
