Lou does not sing. He talks the poetry. I definitely prefer Peter Gabriel's version. To each his own.

Obviously two people mistakenly pressed "dislike" instead of download.

i'm a huge peter gabriel fan, but there's a brokenness, poignancy and a depth to this version that makes it superior.
peter gabriel's version is a beautiful-sounding song. lou reed's take is an authentic laying-bare of himself.

@tinchoguitar5 I'd have to agree.

I love the pictures you selected for this vid. A truly amazing song~

@vidgamer77 This version is incredible. There's so much heart and soul here.

It's really a shame that people disregard Lou Reeds song and accept Gabriels version. I too dislike Lou's voice, and prefer Gabriel's version to this any day, but Lou's version (which is his own) is powerful in it's own way and is excellently written, with great lyrics and an obvious deep passion...why else would Gabriel care for it? Give credit where credits due...this man created the song you know and love by Peter Gabriel.

@marmissf I disagree.

Sorry, but this is awful... Lou Reed may have written a great song, but he just can't sing... I came from Peter Gabriel who covered this... his version is much better... he recorded the full potential of this song.
Lou is a poet. I love Gabriels version, but something in Lou's voice which touches my very soul.

Haunting and moving music. I watched "Berlin" the other night this is a must see for Lou and Velvet Underground fans.
