Aftershock Behind the Scenes: Making a tsunami. A 20 metre section of motorway was purpose built on Petone foreshore for the tsunami scene. Dump tanks would flood the set with 6,000 litres per take. A combination of the physical effects and CGI (computer generated images) created the final scene featuring the powerful 10 metre high tsunami.
