  • this was an interesting demo and i'll use it in my middle school science class. however, she should have minimally had on protective gloves when she did this to prevent being scalded by the boiling water when she jerked her hand when the balloon popped. luckily, she didn't spill any on her hand. better yet, put the test tube in a clamp on a stand. safety should be an utmost concern.

  • Thank you for making this very valid point about safety! A ring stand with clamp would be an ideal setup for this demonstration.

  • Wow thats so awesome XD did you eat it?

  • thanks for the neat idea for showing kids how popcorn pops. i wish you had been a little safer when doing it, however. the reaction when the balloon popped and the woman jerked her hand made me think some of that boiling water could have easily spilled out of the tube and onto her arm. yikes! a test tube clamp on a stand would have made more sense.
