A tense standoff is continuing In western Kazakhstan between fired workers at the state oil company and authorities.

Workers say KazMunaiGas owes them danger money that they are refusing to pay.

Police broke up previous demonstrations in May and KazMunaiGas fired about 2,000 employees, but that has not deterred protesters to
maintain their call for justice

Robin Forestier-Walker reports from Zhanaozen.

  • hey fucking obama`s ass that`s not your business right?

  • 2011 is not have been good year for most kazakh

  • occupy kazakhstan starts from Zhanaozen!

  • this report could save their lives. protesting in kazakhstan requires EXTRAORDINARY bravery, they are real heroes.

  • @Scrat335 haha

  • @RayKalmNiam for e.g.you'll see they have green eyes and east asian features..some have east asian features and light blond hair color.

  • @RayKalmNiam it's only awkward when you've got the wrong info or foolishly misunderstood something in the first place. so if the -stan countries were predominantly east asian origin, then that would be awkward for the dumb asses who thought otherwise(in the first place).but the reality is that only kyrgyztan, kazkhstan, and turkmenistan are the countries(if i remember right) that have predominantly east asian looking demographiczs though mostly they are a hybrid populace.

  • This is what I understand. People want more and more. In the Soviet times many workers did not get paid on time. Now, they have jobs and want more. It is not companies but we are greedy too. I grew up in the USSR. I worked and did not have money to date a girl I loved. I left for the US many years ago. I worked hard, studied hard, have wonderful friends, and I am happy the way I live. I am not rich, but I am fine.

  • In the end days the rich heap everything up into piles fo themselves and due to the inequalities peoples hearts grow cold.......wait for it.....
