  • The video is correct with the exception of number of compressions. It is 30:2 with one person CPR on infant (and it may be a glitch in video, but should be noted ) the video only shows 20 compressions on second cycle.

  • You don't hyperextend the neck of the infant, or it will block the airway. You need to place a folded towel or blanket beneath the the infants back.

  • Fucking Expert Village. Can't you just make one video rather than making these stupid little videos scattered all over the place?

  • @aashraya1- If the pulse is weak, it can mean various things (medical conditions/ trauma considerations. Many times, the pulse may be weak if shock is starting to occur. At advanced stages of shock, central pulses may be absent in certain limbs. For example, absent radial pulses in the right arm, but present and weak pulses in the left arm. If no central pulses, (radial, carotid, brachial in infants,) are present then again start CPR.

  • @aashraya1---If breathing is present, you may not have to do anything as long the patients respirations are effective. If your patients breathing is ineffective, then you can perform what is called Artificial Respiration or A.R.. Basically, you attempt to ventilate the patient and match your ventalations with their breaths. For an adult patient, you would give vents roughly every 5-6 seconds, child every 3-5 seconds and infant roughly every 1-3 seconds. If their is no pulse then you must do CPR.

  • @TRIXSTER03 what if there is breathing but little to no pulse?

  • Choking sucks!

  • -DO NEVER HYPEREXTENT THE NECK OF THE INFANT. Until the age of 1, doing so will block his airway. Head must remain in neutral position, eyes toward the ceiling.

    -The numbers here are different from what we do:

    => Start with 5 breath.

    => Then go for 30 compressions / 2 breath

    => Do 5 cycles of 30:2 before leaving the infant to call 911

    - A child is considered as adult "at the age of puberty".

    The first aider will judge if the victim have to be treated as an adult of as a child.

  • i believe its 8

  • I lot of people have been given thumbs down and you were making note of mistake!

    Why thumbs down to you?

  • For CPR it works (this video is for CPR only). However, if trying to clear airway Yes, you place them in a head down postion over your knee. Not shown in this video. Kevin RN EMT
