Here's a rather cheesy commercial from Petro-Canada about a recent immigrant reuniting with his family already living in Canada. This commercial originally aired on Wednesday March 6, 1991 on the then-CBC-affiliate CHRO-TV Cable 6 (now known on-air as CTV Two). Enjoy!

  • What a load of patronizing twaddle.

  • @sweatysock9 And bad acting. ;)

  • I wonder what language the actor is speaking?

Sounds like Spanish or Italian but I'm not so sure.

  • @HalifaxHercules Not sure, but it is likely from Eastern Europe.

  • I used to work with this guy at Bootlegger in '94.

  • @Budderfly1978 The employee or the dad?

  • @Morality124 Agreed! I forgot how much this ad makes my teeth itch.

The "newcomer" kid. I can't remember what his real name was, but he bought "spanish fly" as a secret santa gift that year. LOL

  • @prckay AFAIK no. Only 1991, the quasi-independent-CBC-affiliate era. :)

  • @prckay do you have CHRO from the New Net Era or under CTV
