I had the exact same bug and I got so pissed off the first time it happened. That spell is supposed to decrease enemy attacks, but I guess it just ends the game. The trick to prevent it is to cast the spell that blocks all thought spells (the red circle).

Had the same bug, but i cound finish the game thgough, quite good ending!
