In 1984 The God-Father of Soul, "James Brown," gave and exclusive interview to Isaac Stevenson of "Magic Number Video." During that interview James talked about many issues he normally never talked about. The Material is important today in that much of what James spoke of 20 years ago is before us today. Watch the interview and let's see your comments.

  • Frankly, brother, anything James Brown says is timely! This is definitely one of his more succinct and focused interviews. He doesn't get TOO self-absorbent as he could get at times (and I say that with the ultimate level of love!) Thank you for posting, my man.

  • Thank you for your comment. I hope you check back as I'll be adding more from James. We spent some time together while doing the interview, and I did learn so much from him. In the later interviews I have he talks about the people around him, and how much they mean to him. I hope you'll check back for more. Isaac

  • @beestonpoet,mallcolmx... I enjoyed the interview very much and I'm a JB collector, have been a huge fan for years.

  • @jazzzco all entertainers have egos./No one writes songs or works half as hard as JB to be an ok artists ..he werent a part timer.. he gave it his all an became the best he could be ... He devoted his life too it an worked harder than he needed to an harder than was expected an never got lazy .... Ali was playful with his ego an a few other greats were playful or acted modest ... But to be this great u need EGO an need to believe that what u r doing is worthwhile an important JB was just honest

  • @mallcolmx I agree. Alot of the things that make people think he was egotistical were part of his act of showboating an been a showman an getting attension ... which OBVIOUSLY worked... But when he got the attension he used it too spread positivity an pride an make a better world for everyone Black,White or Blue ... An if he had a bit of ego . why shouldnt he .. he worked extremely hard to be the best he could be ... an that made him one of the very best ...no one will replace a legend

  • James Brown always spoke alot of sence... Prince idolised him an often sounded like him ..as did so many people .. I think when I see him interviewed I am always impressed by his genuineness an he was deeply sincere about trying to make a difference an using his position well to create a positive influence ... In the same way that Johnny Cash did ... One Of The Very Best .. just for making lots of people '''FEEL GOOD'' James Brown had made an impact better than most .. but he did so much more

  • RIP James brown----one

  • James brown, in all the interviews that i have seen of him, gives credit to God for his talent. This is not an egotisical person.

  • James was a one of a kind.....Egotistical...absolutely! Why shouldnt he be, he INVENTED FUNK!!! Very much a humanitarian....

  • it is in 1984 not in 1985

  • RIP James Brown

  • James brown's EGO was one of a Kind....... Mohammad Ali can't touch james brown's ego.... Ali was playful with his Ego.
