Love bite

Emmie my savannah monitor gets a bath and gets confused with fingers and food then has a stroll around my room.....Emmie had a happy life and we grew extremely close and enjoyed eachothers company she showed no agressive behavior at all, only love...unfortunetly a few days after she had turned 4 she had started acting very unusual. i brought her to the vet and he said she was okay but she needed a boost of calcium and gave her a shot. not too long after, she died from unknown causes. my heart shattered in pieces. be careful of vets, some are not as experienced with reptiles as they may say. i would consult other experienced herp lovers, talk to local reptile pet shops, forums or friends before letting your guard down get as much info you can.

yeah she was my baby, savs are prob my favorite monitor they can be so mellow and lovey

im sorry for your loss...but i think she had an liver decease cause she looks to fat.

Don't want to comment on you tho, its a common decease with savannah monitors.

I have two of them and they are still young, but are doing great!!

Hope you will go on with the love for reptile's (sorry for my bad english im from holland)

@flipserijer yeah i dont think it was liver disease from the way i found her , it looked like she had an aneurysm and before she died she was a little shakey at times the vet i went to said she was fine and dissmissed it because they dont do MRIs on reptiles but i will admit she was a little on the chubby side i think i may have spoiled her too much but she was my baby

Emmie's getting big- and congratulations on showing her coming to you - very few ppl have a vid of his lizard coming to him.

Looks like you were getting a bit of draping there, too- all that gentle attention is paying off. Emmie will learn about fingers vs food very fast- shouldn't take more than a week - they have no problem learning it if they have a chance.

Lizards love baths, especially nice warm ones, I think it helps them loosen up
