  • It's a great idea and a great project for one of your classes but it really should of stayed a project and be kept out of public. you have no idea what you receive as a member, ask you know who to find out. you dont know who the haumbauchers are do you? At the U of A you should want to cheer cause its fun and you have passion and excitement to cheer on OUR great school! for any sport. Taking time from your schedule to cheer shouldnt be a burden! i would reconsider staying a UofA cheerleader.

  • 1. All of us know what we receive from being on the team and none of us take it for granted

    2. Everyone on the team knows who the Haumbauchers are and that is why they are invited to our awards banquet at the end of the year and receive a standing ovation.

    3. Ms. Weinstein was female rookie of the year and attends every OPTIONAL practice possible, obviously she has passion.

    4. The point is that if golfers, who are athletes, receive scholarships, shouldn't cheerleaders who are just as athletic

  • k then the team needs to show they have passion and arent taking it for granted and stop complaining about what they dont get and how awful things are, and start concentrating on what they do get and appreciate it for what it is. i know it was just a project, but keep the negativity away from the program there's already enough as it is. do research on college programs that dont compete and see what you come up with, youll find your answer to 4. there, as well as why they should be grateful

  • This video is just trying to explain why the cheerleaders might deserve a scholarship when we work just as hard as other athletic teams. I don't see that as complaining. And when you say there is negativity in the program, what are some examples? And is this a view from outside of the program or are you part of it now or in the past? Any insight is appreciated!

  • Thank you so mUch for this awesome video! I just wanted to say that if cheerleading was easy than they would call it football! Hhehehehehehehehehehe thanks ur awesome!

  • video was great and so true! I'm glad you stood up to your administration. It shows you have passion for your school and cheerleading. I live in AZ, &Going to UofA is a dream of mine.I would love to have the oppertunity to become a wildcat cheerleader, & to cheer throughout college.I am also on the varsity cheer team at my school. I would really appriciate it if you could let me know if anything gets done about the scholarships or about clinics

I Hope One Day to become a UofA Cheerleader!

  • Thank you so much for this viedo! EVERYTHING in it is true! especially the cheering not being a sport! i think this should be passed! cheerleaders work so hard at what we all so and its fun dont get me wrong but we need a little respect for what we do! its all extremily hard! right now i am only 13 but my goal in life is to get a scholarship from cheer but by my time will cheer scholarships even exist? idk but i sure hope they will! i hope you get the scholarship! it shound like you deserve it!

  • Jaclyn!

In the fall of this year I will be a senior in high school. Im on the varsity spirit line and I plan on attending UofA. Do you think that the athletic dept will change their mind about providing scholarships by the end of my senior year in may of 2010? I rely on scholarship money for my future and I would love to continue cheering through out college!

  • Jaclyn, Fantastic video.

    Go Cats :)

  • everything aside, i think you did a great job in presenting it and i think it would be great if it happened.(past member) Im directing this to the team as a whole, i hear so much you don't even know lol. I think the first years are doin a great job :) i think you have potential to change things around if your that passionate about it, i know the upperclassmen were the main issue this year and next year youll be able to have some say and start makin a positive impact, notice i was saying "they."
