  • this is 1 of my favorite Nightwish songs of all time, if not the most favorite! it combines the best elements of Nightwish, Tarja's magnificent voice(and unsuppressed like in later albums), Tuomas' creative song writing(unlike his latest work, which he dumbed down a lot) and bringing their emotions into the performance(as opposed to Nightwish's new very bland style).

great song, great live performance, the perfect example of why we loved Nightwish so much and what we're now missing in the new.

  • This is true colour of NightWish \m/'

  • Kick ass tune!!

  • @Metalornothing1 I agree. I love ALL of their Cds, though.

  • @mikewill9511 Not all bands have to do that. The really great bands didn't change members at all. The Beatles broke up after Lennon's death, Queen didn't go on after Mercury's death, etc. Sure, some bands do change members after a tragic death, like Metallica after Cliff's death, but that happened very early in their careers, after just 1 album with Cliff. Metallica's later changes were part of Metallica's deterioration.

  • @cvstiana wrong, this was in 2000. Anyway, this were the times when Nightwish was magical, now they are just another powermetal band. I miss this NW so freaking much

  • Tarja in a single word......FLAWLESS!!

  • I was 7 in 2002, this was in 2002 and I was 7 :(((

  • Angels Fall First, Oceanborn and WIshmaster... THAT was Nightwish... the vocalist change had nothing to do with it.

  • This is the first song I ever heard cuz I'm a die-hard fan of LOTR. It's beautiful.

  • @HeLL12aiseR They still use operatics in their albums, just not in the leading vocals. Adn yes, they didnt do drastic things- the bands you mentioned- and they didnt become boring, for the fact that they could easily incorporate different styles in their music and change throughout albums. Therion- the excellent example of a true symphonic metal band- shows that the heart of a band isn't changed with the dismissal of a member.

PS: Tuomas is the heart now.

  • @mikewill9511 don't know about you but real Operas don't "get boring" nor do they change the way they perform. don't know about you but great bands like The Beatles, Queen, etc didn't make any *drastic* changes, nor did they ever become "boring". you want to call it an evolution, fine, but please for the love of god don't compare the old NW with the new 1, as they're so far apart they're not even comparable. yes, it was "only" the lead vocals that changed, but she was their heart.
