Michael Phelps swimming in the 100 free at the Charlotte Ultraswim 2009. He lost the race to Bosquet and came in second place, which surprised many. (not to me!)You can't win every race and anyway, he supposedly changed his stroke. According to Phelps himself he thought he needed to work on the little things, like his walls, technique, etc.

  • Phelps didn't win this race because he isn't a sprinter. Bosquet is.

  • @georgef85 You obviously don't know anything about swimming.

  • @georgef85 So is that why 2 years later hes number 1 once again? It had nothing to do with the suits. Phelps was out of the pool on a ban for 3 months. You expect him to train for not even a week and come in and beat the worlds fastest 100 freestyler of that time? That cant happen, its impossible.

  • @4842873 yes im only 16 and i went a 24 low as well haha

  • @onlyplayingme congrats dude! thats pretty epic racing jason FREAKN Lezak haha. You went our pretty hard, probably a 24 low going out? and did it say in the video you're only 16?

  • @4842873 I just got my trials cut last week and went a 51.47. Check out the vedio of it in my channel, and i also raced JASON LEZAK!!! How cool is that!

  • @chrisfour4444 at least he beat cavic haha

  • @onlyplayingme 52 is pretty good, just a couple tenths from nat's cut. how far from trial cut?

  • @andresrojas22 that is because a straight arm recovery is extremely hard to maintain since it uses different muscles, as the bent arm recovery uses a different muscles. Yes a Straight arm is great for sprints, but doing a straight arm for a full 100 is quite tough to maintain.

  • It would be a shame for Bousquet to lose against Phelps in a 100m freestyle.

  • really cool. My best is 52:00 but iv been hitting 55's in practice. Hopfully i can go a 51 and make olympic trials this summer.

  • Biederman said himself that his arena x-glide gave him at least a two second advantage
