Totally owned it man!! God, that tone... righteous!
btw, do the thumb muting ( a'la Hetfield ) on the guitar too, never thought to try it with the bass.

All understood....especially the muting....so important to find ways to do this that work for you.

Spot-on as said.
You may find playing easier if you subscribe to an "economy of movement" mentality. With your fretting hand, try and keep your non-fretting fingers close to the fingerboard when not in use. This way they don't have as far to travel when you want to employ them. Also, it is good technique to keep your thumb of your fretting hand on the back of the neck....the changing of position from behind to around the top is wasteful of energy unless you want to fret with your thumb.

@Andro1 Hey man. Frankly I am not big into technique. I just don't care about it at all. Some people do, some don't. If you watch Justin Chancellor of Tool play you will see his technique is much much worse than mine anyways. As far as the thumb, I am aware it doesn't have to move but I use it as a muting technique. If you watch I use it to mute the low d (e). Especially with aggressive pick strumming this comes in handy and as I play acoustic guitar i borrowed it from there.
