This is what my car, 2000 Ford Focus SE Wagon w/ 2.0 SOHC, sounds like. I have had people tell me it is a broken rod but I think it has something to do with valve timing. With all the racket it is making, wouldn't you think so too? If not, please let me know or if you have suggestions send those also.

  • sorry to hear about that man. did u ever fix the problem. we have a Focus with the SOHC and it dropped a valve. had to rebuild the motor.

  • my girlfreinds is making the same sound i crawled under it and it sounds like number 3 rod to me i pull the valve cover 2 and it didnt get any louder.....

  • pull the head same thing happend to my focus its not the value its the value seating and tring to start it like thats goin to tare the engine up trust me
