i agree. he has a lot of technique and does a good job supporting the song, which is great. but when he solos it's just flashy and not really musically all that evocative. if you watch his live "solo" videos, no one ever claps or cheers. it's like a billy sheehan/stu hamm wannabe but with no soul and not inventive or uniquely creative.
