After OU starting QB Jason White suffers a season ending knee injury late in the 1st Qtr., backup Nate Hybl leads the Sooners to a comfortable,(but temporary) half-time lead against a tricky Alabama team. (from Sept. 7th 2002)
Just watching the highlights makes me nervous even though this was almost nine years ago. This was the first game my freshman year and god DAMN was it hot that day at Owen Field. Hell of an effort by both teams, and a hell of an organized effort by all the Bama fans, 99% of whom showed up wearing white.
YUMMO!!

Tough for OU losing Jason White early in the game. Nate Hybl did a good job taking over for the Sooners and getting a W.
Also a good job by Franchione keeping the Tide in the game and a chance to win in the 4th quarter. I though it was one o fhis bext coaching efforts.
