  • @Ayatanoaqui murderous socialist?

  • @percybernedo Thanks you gave me something important to think about!

  • Michael, another Che Guevara????

  • ...it is not intellectual understanding but the desire to do.

Example: can you love your enemy? can you give the other chick? a Christian should be able to but if you have some self observation you would recognize that we don't do that. It is not about understanding with the mind but about doing. after doing more understanding comes. So what would you be fighting against if you give the other chick? your ego and vanity maybe?

This is maybe hopeless but I hope some of this will stays with you.

  • however, even then all wasn't lost because there was a hierarchy and the idea that something needed to be taught and and brought from the original source. At less formally the Catholic Church keeps that tradition (tradition = bringing [from the past]). Not an arbitrary interpretation but the closest possible to what was taught in the beginning.

That living tradition is lost in most modern Christian denominations even in the Catholic Church

    ....will continue

  • ... continuation ...

Then the religion was adopted by the romans thru Constantine and the it became massive. Before that early Christians were an anti social group of people which were persecuted as they would not fit in society. No interest in material wealth, could not serve in the army etc. But Constantine saw them as a tool to unify his empire.

My point being, after that most of the requirements to be a Christian were reduced to say I believe this and that.

    ... will continue ...

  • you are making it hard, and I am not sure that you are really open to learn anything new; but anyways: Christian ism is not for every one, you may want to start with the history of it. To become Christian people were required to study for about three years before being baptized.

    ..will continue..

  • And also percy refering to you comment further up the page Jesus did NOT say money is the root of all evil. Timothy said 'love of money is the root of all evil'. You sir clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

  • Percy where did you study theology? nothing you have said forms a coherent argument that has anything to do with my initial statement. 'The same way you can't explain advance calculus to a kid that barely knows how to add integers'. The bible was made to be simple so that a child can understand it Percy, why would divine intelligence create his book of salvation so that only the intelectual elite could use it? You have contradicted yourself multiple times over.

  • The same way you can't explain advance calculus to a kid that barely knows how to add integers , you can't expect to understand these ideas unless you have put lot's of efforts into it. But a hint for you is that salvation is nothing like a peaceful prosperous life. Think about this: "..I come not to bring peace, but to bring a sword.." and this ".. for many are called but few are chosen .." you seriously think you are one of the few? or that you can understand a divine intelligence ?
