This video shows our group of Grey Triggerfish, Balistes capriscus, being released into our Atlantic Ocean exhibit. The group were caught outside the aquarium in Plymouth...even though they are a Mediterranean or Caribbean species. The group will now live a happy life in our huge 2.5 million litre Ocean exhibit, with our 3 sand-tiger sharks. Two Porkfish, Anisotremis virginicus, were also released into the tank, after being caught from our Coral Seas exhibit.
In the video, you see our adult triggerfish come over to greet the new arrivals, one of the porkfish gets used to the sharks...and the curved window! Once they were settled, the triggers were back to their normal inquisitive selves.
