  • Few conductors have recorded the complete Bruckner Symphonies (not including any unusual ones like number "0"). Barenboim, Jochum, Karajan, et al have one thing in common - a great affinity for lavish romantic music, especially German repertoire. Is it Bruckner's music that only attracts the "deepest" of conductors or is it that deep conductors have a tough time finding deep lengthy symphonies to conduct besides Mahler? Recall neither Jochum nor Karajan were heavy Mahlerites. Bravo Danny.

  • "Dem lieben Gott". Grande interpretazione di questo capolavoro bruckneriano ancora troppo sottovalutato. E' possibile ascoltare nitidamente la tensione e il ripensamento della fede di fronte alla morte.

  • For me , the best recording in DVD of Bruckner´s Symphonies ( 4 to 9 ) are by Günter Wand - all from the annual Festival in Lübeck, from 1998 to 2001. ( Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival ). Really fantastic, trully better than Bernstein, Karajan, Solti, etc, in my modest opinion. Even the movement 1 of the Bruckner´s Symphonie 9, which I don´t like very much usually, it is more interesting in the Wand version.

  • @mirkojorgovic Yes, really.

  • @codonauta First movement is tribute to Beethoven's 9th /1

  • I don´t like much of the movement one ; but the Scherzo and the Adagio are spectacular. Works of genius. Mainly the Adagio.
