In this tutorial I show you a few different methods for creating a custom vignette border in Adobe Premiere Pro. The first method is fast and simple, but doesn't give you much flexibility. The second method I figured out is a bit more advanced, but gives you much more control over the final look. Be sure to like, favorite, and subscribe if you like what I do. I really hope this video helps you out. Also, I plan on making many more tutorials so let me know if you have any requests.

  • @otodo

You are very welcome. This video is like the gift that keeps giving :)

  • Problem solved!. Thank you

  • @dex3w

    No problem.

  • that's interesting but i do it a whole different way. the thing is I do a circular gradient from white to black. White being the center and black being the exterior color in photoshop, within a pretty realistic ratio size. I prefer on doing it at least the double of ur original frame(in premiere), cuz you can fix that later and there won't be any quality loss on the final touch. You set then a transparency between that picture and your footage. .. Try it out :)

  • this is the Best tutorial on vingettes...thanks man!!!!

  • Great great tutorial

  • Cool tut. Nice to have this option after losing all my hard work using that fucking After Effects where my footage ended up OFF-LINE.

  • @walterall I did all the same steps except I made my track matte white color... but it still turns out black. Anyone can help?

  • thanks for the tutorial! But I'm having trouble making a white vignette. I did all the same steps except I made my track matte white color... but it still turns out black. Anyone can help?

  • For anyone else trying this, make sure your 16 Point Garbage Matte effect is listed ABOVE the Blur effect in the effect controls window, or else your vignette will be all messed up when you try to add the blur.

Sorry for the late response. Glad you like the tut. Now about those borders. I'm sure there are more efficient ways of doing that but a simple solution is to add 2 black video tracks above everything else and adjust the position of both to give the illusion of the 16:9 aspect ratio. Hope that helps.
