Rare look at an F-15 (I've been corrected) fighter jet buzzing the neighborhood near Camp David in The Catoctin Mountains Maryland. Patrol dropped altitude and began circling the area for undetermined reasons. Lasted for about 5 minutes at a deafening decibel level. Estimated at about 1,000 feet. One possible reason was a small plane may have entered the restricted airspace and was being warned.

  • where was this aircraft based out of?

  • @SoccerBoy77 Probably Andrews Airforce base but I'm just an observer not an expert. Andrews is the closest I believe.

  • if I was in that small plane and I saw that thing coming after me I would crap my pants

  • @zellarsDD777 Actually happens more often than you'd think in this area - average of every 6-8 weeks I would guess.

  • Nope, it's definitely an F-15. F-15 tail wings stand up vertical, while and F-18's stand at an angle. This plane's is clearly standing vertical. Plus, the overall size is a factor too. An F-18 is much smaller. I live in the area and know enough about where these planes are scrambled from to know that it would not be an F-18. Back in November, I witness an F-16 doing the same thing in the Carroll Valley area.

  • Thanks. I've changed it (I had someone tell me it was an F-18.

  • @CampDavidAircraft no i dont think its andrews....they only have F-16s for fighters...they could be the guys outta barnes muni up here in westfield ma but i cnt see the tail codes

  • yeah it def is an f-15

  • Totally an f-15! the hornets wings are set at a much more aggressive angle! also the wings are set further back. I do get a lil confused when I see one of these at quite a distance as the silhouette sometimes reminds me of an f22.

  • those are the Israeli pilots training the Americans . . . GO IAF

  • i saw somthing like those on saturday !

  • actually its probably enforcing the restriction
