This is indeed a great version of the Wanderer. Richter's sound quality is amazing, and the tempo as well. He is one of my favourite pianists ever. You might also want to check Pollini's interpretation of this Fantasia.

@xujia1001 May be you got an answer already but in case you didn't.
This is the studio version recorded in feb 1963.Richter spent hours and hours to get it "perfect"...I am sure all other "attempts" would have satisfied us.

Obviously Schubert had some difficulties performing his own piece at one time - his saying "the devil may play this stuff" simply reflects frustration at that moment...

Truecrypt, can you please tell me when was this recorded? I found only the Paris recording on the web with a better recording quality.

I honestly don't remember... ;)
Richter made several recordings and I have some of them in different "forms" - LPs, CDs and simply MP3 files. Let me check it out, though I can't promise you a definite answer. If you like this particular performance, send me a PM and I'll try to "help" ;)
