Okay, I'm sure you're all familiar with the terrible DDRX cabinets that Betson has bestowed upon us this past week. On Friday, June 12th, FunForeAll received the dedicab that they had ordered. My first day of playing, I couldn't get anything higher than an A and I really had to try to get that much. After a day of pestering my manager, we finally got the go ahead to tear apart the pads to see what we could do.

With a very simple cardboard mod, here is the product of our work. The left side pad is the modded pad and the right side is the side that hasn't been modded yet. I played the same song twice, once on each pad, and put them together in this video just to show how drastically improved they are. Sure they are nowhere near perfect, but they are more than significantly better than they were the other day.

Before anyone asks, this is not an exaggeration. I am playing the same exact way on both sides. I did this just to show the improvement. I hope this video helps some people out and begins to explore the potential of this new DDR mix.

  • That's why not to get a dedicab.

    Just upgrade.

I'd personally keep the SN2 cab.

  • Unfortunately it's up to the owners of the arcade, not the people who actually play the game.

  • i mean, congrats on doing what you did to it. but think about it. It's a brand new game with new easy songs and no one has gotten a AAA. Thats so awful

  • Yeah okay, we understand that. There's nothing that we can really do about it at this point though. I'm just trying to get some enjoyment out of the game.

  • ddr X is a piece of shit. Extreme/Supernova or ITG machines are the best.

  • lol the pad without the mod reminds me of the DDR Extreme (bootleg)/original 3rd mix cabinet that really sucks. P1 side is under sensetive and the P2 up and right buttons kept glitching and then all of a sudden they dont work when i tried to play doubles.

  • @KyutoJohasu You still can't upgrade legacy cabs today. You can't even upgrade X dedis to X2 (like you'd want to, X2 dedis are somewhat better, but it's better to wait for X3 to come out for X2.

  • @fbaddict111 no shit sherlock

  • i always wondered if its possible to throw away those crap o pads and get some real japan ddr pads, the metal ones not the wooden ones...its just sad how konami satisfies the japan players but hey konami, we in america would like the same!!! e-amuse too!!!

  • so, what exactly did you do to the pad? A local arcade nearby has the same pad problem (as well as the lag), and if would be great if you can explain what you did.

btw, you wouldn't happen to know if there is some kind of patch for the lag problem? If you do, do you mind telling me where to get it from?

  • played on 1 two days ago...it was absolutely horrific!!!

  • what is DEVS can you give me a link with more info ETC

  • It was a download. I think from the Devs.

  • how do i get this patch
